Played croquet in the evening to atlantic Hotel with Geo. Sprague. I there saw some curious dancing and bad dancers. Spoke to Hageman and others. Saw Humer girls swinging and drinking. Saturday 12th. To Paterson with the village ball club. I played 2 innings. I had one bat and made a home run. Our club was beaten 11 to 10. First time I was ever in P. Found it a large town. After the game came layer been from away to bed about 11. Saturday 13th Uncle William and Dada here. Dada left after dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Fray -nor spent- a few hours here. Amit are, in the evening. Card playing. Monday 14th Very close and warm. Played croquet. Introduced to a young lady by navel Lensom.
