Black Rock Falls

Located just up the trail from Hemlock Falls, Black Rock Falls is a waterfall fed by natural springs located within the South Mountain Reservation.

If you visit this area at a less popular time of day, you are likely encounter some wildlife. The Reservation's deciduous forest is home to dozens of species of migratory songbirds, such as vireos, warblers and thrushes. Other species like the Northern cardinal and the pileated woodpecker live in the forest year-round. In addition to the avian residents, many other common wildlife species live in the Reservation, including deer, raccoons, foxes, turtles, rabbits and wild turkey.
