Great baseball game for the Unions. They played against the dafarettes of Paterson and won 6 to 4. A lot of excitement as it was the best game ever played in the new Utrecht. I recieved a letter from aunt Jin. Eight pages long. Mary Rob with belle Sullivan to the city. Played cards in the evening. | Great baseball game for the Unions. Aunt Mary to Brooklyn to stand examination as an alcove teacher. She became frightened when the time came, and refused to try. Mary rob has a bad cold. Witnessed a yacht race which proved interesting. Played ball and enjoyed myself. | |||

Commenced last night finished tonight a letter to Aunt Jin. Cloudy and dampness. Whole year to 9.0.4. Clam bake at bath park. Narre to Mrs. Williams. | |||
Saturday 23rd. | |||
A drizzling rain all day. Our club went to Staplehin S.J. to play the arbiy tous, of ______. We were treated shamefully. Score 8 to 6 4 1/2 innings against no. Seventeen of us in the boat rowed home. Dark Damp and disagreeable. Rather a bad afternoon. We arrived home 7 1/2. Company from next door spent the evening here. I wrote three letters 19 different newspapers. None of which will be published. | |||

More Rain; Still heavy in the night. Gus Recknajel the Hassards the Sullivans young Ladies and dan kelly, spent part of the day with us. The last named slept here. The great explosion at Hell gate took place. It was hardly heard here. | |||

Weather clearing. Kelly and Aunt Mary mailed three of my letters to the n. 4 sun, the ____ and to aunt Jin. Aunt Mary in new york all day. Silly from dear little nellie and a word from Papa. I played ball in the afternoon; had quite an enjoyable time but feel very tired. | |||
Tuesday 26__ and chilly weather. I enjoyed a bath. Stayed in about a minute. The water was very cold. Deep real well after coming out and Mary rob. I played ball and of course enjoyed myself. Ried teller Belli from George O.s from Masie and k. Y. Sun. | |||
Wensday 27th Papa home in the evening. he spent last night in Newark. He brought me a letter from J. U. S. the first in a long time. He wants to know why I do not write to him. Yesterday, mary posted a letter for me to the IV. 4l Clipper. Played ball | |||
Thursday 28th Papa to the city. I played ball in the afternoon. I was occupied during the morning writing for Papa. A Mr. Vitali here last evening I believe: or the evening before. I mean he came next door. He is a friend of Belle Sullivan. He is tall and ugly. Mary, myself, and papa in Mrs. Badpero. A very stupid evening indeed. | |||

Papa to the city. I played ball. Mary and Pauline spent the evening in our house. Belle and myself in Mr. B's. a beautiful night; Because moon everywhere, everything lit up. | |||

Papa home. I was to play in a match but it rained all day. Whole three letters to Kense as. J.U.D. and Sister Sue and nellie. Wrote part of a long letter to Mazie. Spent another dull evening in B's. Seamed to play cribbage a little. | |||
