September, Wednesday 30. Letter from Masie. Mary went to Newark to spend the day with Aunt Sue. Received Boy’s Herald. Thursday, 31(2) (October, 1.) Looking over old papers. Mary and Aunt Sue came in the even-ing. Mamma continues in middling health. Bayard Mrs. Kelly and Mary Bevius called in the evening. October, Friday 1. (2.) Bayard rowed his race today. Mary and Aunt Sue went to Bath. They returned in the evening. Bayard met them in the cars. He came in with them. Stayed a short while and he and I went over to the Herald office. Returning I met Jitterton and had a talk with him on baseball. Saturday, 2nd (3) To the Park. Saw rameless-hassan game. Game, 4 Mass, 7 Play-ed half an inning with the Winonas. Aunt Sue returned to Newark. Sermon by a priest with a low voice. Sullivan & Lynch called. Monday, 4. (5.) Looking over papers. Bayard called. Went with him to the Namelss Club Rooms. Played billiards General Bouna and a Capt. Kelly called in the evening. Tuesday, 5. (6.) Spent the morning playing billiards and arranging letters. In the afternoon went with Bayard and Dick to Bath. Prepared our own supper and enjoyed it very much. Passed a very pleasant night/ Retired at three. Slept on a sofa. Felt cold and uncomfortable. Had for covering papers old coats. Wednesday, 6. (7) Bayard left in the morning. Dick and I went to the city in the afternoon. I left him on Flattrish Ave. To the Park to see a game of ball. Winonas vs. Daisys. W. 17 to D 12. Very disagreeable roudy on the ground. Felt very much like giving him live or three good cracks. Endeavored t catch the 620 dummy. missed it and walked to Bath. rained during all the journey. Arrived at our house in Bath wet and uncomfortable. Played cards with Johnnie and Susie Kates Sue till after twelve. Thursday, 7th,, (8) Left my bed at half past one in the afternoon. Annoying papers till near eight when I had supper. Raining hard. To Big Kates. Played cards. Back to the papers. To bed at 2 o’clock. A stormy day. Friday, 8th,,, (9) Still in Bath. I have made a mistake in dates. I gave September more days than she needed. Writing to Aunt Jen. Back to Brooklyn. Missed the dummy and walked to Fort Hamilton. Found Mamma no better. R.H.S. and myself to Booths. Mr. and Mrs. Williams played to crowded houses. Home at 12. Saturday, 10. To the Nameless Club Rooms. Saw B.B. With him to N.Y. Met R.H.S. and by A. Lynch. Spent a pleasant afternoon in N.Y. Home. Playing cards. Bed, 1. Sunday, 11. To nine o’clock Mass. Elliott of Newark called. Walked with him in Brooklyn. Mamma about the same. Monday, 12. Read and played cards. Wrote to Haldiman. Mary Hamilton now called. Made for houselop to avoid
