him he asked me if I was going to behave myself I did not answer he asked me two or three times again if I was going to behave myself but I did not answer. He then told me to go to my seat and make up wheither I was going to behave myself or not. After grammar class he asked me again would I behave myself or not at last I said I would try to. I asked him would he let me off the punishment, and he said yes. This is all I have to say.
Weddes. 16 Uncle William was out here but I did not see him. Today I was sent out of the study hall but I did not get punished. As I had not room to write on the little peice of paper I shall write it here (Letter paper) We were playing with O'Neil one of the boys when A boy came up named Joe Lucas and two or three more named John Hayes, Robert Dade and James Boyle. I then threw my stick and hit him on the Leg then he took up his big stick and hit me on the back with it I then called him a liar and a thief then he came up to me and kicked me Then a boy named Billy Marrin got between us and told Joe Lucas not to that again then I said I would tell Sawyer one of our teachers. It was good that Mr. Sawer was not in for if he was I would have told. Today I got 258 out of 270 and no bad notes
Thur. 17 Today I received a letter from Mary. Tonight I sent two letters one to Mary and the other to Mama.
Fri. 18 Today I went to confession. Today I received A letter from papa and he says that the snow storm prevented Mama from comeing out on thrusday.
Sat. 19 Today Uncle James Uncle William and Aunty Sue brout me a whole lot of nice things. Uncle James brought me a letter from Mama and I sent her one with him. Today Uncle James brought me a pair of skates.
Sun. 20 Today I received a letter from papa. Today I wrote a letter and a half. The first one was for papa.
Mon. 21 Today I finished the letter that I began yesterday and another besides and sent them today the first to Mama and Mary. Today we had three snow fights and our side won each time.
Tues 22 Today I ate the last of the things which Uncle James and Aunt Sue brought me.
Wednes 23 Today I had a fight with a boy named Pat Russell but none of us won. I got 255 notes out of 270.
Thur. 24 Today I went to Newark and there I met Mama and Aunt Jenny I cried a little bit when Mama left me. About six o'clock today I came back here I received two letters today both dated the 22 inst one of the letters was from papa and the other from Mary.
Fri. 25 Today I wrote and then sent a letter to Mama Today we had two snow fights our side won each time.
Sat. 26 Today we had three snow fights our side won each time.
Sun. 27 Today I wrote two letters one to Mama the other to Mary.
Mon. 28 Today I sent the two letters which I wrote Yesterday. Today I went skating and had a nice time.
Tues. 29 Today I bought 25 cents worth of cakes. And I ate the last of them before I got in bed.
Wednes 30. Today I received two letters one from papa and the other from Mary. Today I went to confession I got 245 notes out of 260. Today I received absolution
