At a late hour I summon up the courage to begin the new diary and with this brief introduction I usher in 1876 not much to write about today. I got up in an inelegant expression about eight perhaps it was nearer 9 Papa was home all day I spent most of the day with Mary the girl she and I had chats on interesting subjects. I nead without interest and not understandingly a little of Blackstone in the evening miss Jamison hornet and Mary and myself played cards the first and last name against the other two. Our side one. Thursday 25 Miss Williams and Marie to their bath house. Passed a good part of the day with man Harrison who was quite ill.
