[?] stopped all ight at the Clinton House Brooklyn while Leo Will and I went on to Greenwood where Hornet + Claus awaited us. We left Greenwood at 1 lost our way several times aroused a number of dogs and arrived home Leo + I having fallen asleep at half past [?] We had supper all [?] to bed. I went to bed at 4 1/2

Saturday 29

Up about 9 the rest of the [?] home. To see a game of ball in the afternoon. Miss [?] down for a week or two

Sunday 30th

Uncle W here. Rained hard. Directed a thousand envelopes for Papa. I was employed eight or ten hours in all and I winced real hard I was not thanked for my trouble. People in here and games dancing to in which Uncle William joined.

Monday 31st

Uncle W. and Aunt Sue to Newark. Will [?] Leo [?] and I fishing morning and afternoon. It rained hard and we all received a right- good wetting. We caught some few small fish. The young ladies in here in the afternoon. The last day of July the month has gone past very rapidly.

Aug. Tuesday 1st

Will [?] and [?] fishing. I spent the evening in [?] envelopes to the number of nearly 300. My trouble was [???] afterwards. [?] here. I took part in the dances. I was attired in [?] ball shoes and colored [?]lint. Played croquet during the day. [?] of we were in the [?] and there [?] an unusual amount of quarrelling. Papa informed me that the directing of the 1000 envelopes [?????]

Wednesday 2nd

Quest day. [?] in the evening. In the summer house afterwards and took a prominent part in acting foolish. Bathed and feet very cold.

Thursday 3rd

For some days past we have been enjoying beautiful moon light. We have moreover been tortured with the [?] and despicable bugs. quinto to Wrights and gathered [??] and finished "Little Dorrit" are of a series of beautiful, wonderful stories. 21- was my second reading of the [?]. Finished [?] 26th of July. letter to Marie

Friday 4th

In the morning played croquet then I talked till dinner time. Did nothing the rest of the day. The folks to Mrs. Williams and Mrs. [?] in the evening. Beautiful moon lit night. Pleasant weather

Saturday 5th

Up at 5 or before. Tidyed my room. Miss Belle Sullivan picnic. Aunt Mary Saint death to [?] up to see game of ball. Miss Perkins home at door

Sunday 6th

Uncle William stayed all night. Father Sam around all day. I believe we enjoyed very pleasant weather. Aunt Mary still [?]

Monday 7th

Father Sam here last night and tonight. W. [?] and I caught over a hundred fish. Out all day. Had to throw them away. [?] below "no clear"

Tuesday 8th

Aunt Mary home. Father Sam away. Straw (2) Ride next door. I went to bed early. Leo, {?] + Miss [?] here. Think little of [?]

Wednesday 9th

Out fishing most of the day. Caught over forty fish. Gave some to [?] and [?] little [?]. Was wet and tired. To bed at an early hour

Thursday 10th

Played croquet in the morning base ball in the afternoon and cards in the evening. Strained my Uncle while trying to catch a ball. Writing to Aunt [?] About 12 o'clock at night Mister Will [?] was missing. George and I to Bath Hotel. Great entertainment. Master Will found asleep in the parlor.
