Saturday June 16th Rained last night and most of the day. Brewer on his ear about nothing. He will get over it quicker than I. Tuesday 19th Up late to court. Brewer and Wood both on their defense. They even go to the devil Wood and I promised to give him money last Friday when I did not promise any such thing. Gave Wood $200 borrowed off him which I promised and did give him the first time I saw him. Invited by the two to drink but politely declined. Read numerous letters from Brother today. Wrote to Newark last night again I would not go to Commencement at Seton Hall. Put the job into Harvey's hands. Little credit he'll give me. Do not admire him very much. Stayed at office till late. Smoking a great deal so not feel well. Little Willie in good health.
