Stopped on way for coffee [&] pie. 5 cents short. Promised to settle tomorrow. Rather chilly. Out in [blank] for short time. Papa to city [&] truck. Mary [&] Mazie to Newark. Not [blank] at night. A pleasant day. Saw [&] avoided speaking to [blank][blank] in the afternoon on dummy [&] [blank]. Ellen O'Rourke increasing in kindness. Have not written in diary for almost two weeks.
