August, Thursday, 30th 1877.
Will [blank] world and I up bright [&] early off. Fishing [&] poor luck. We enjoyed ourselves however. Found the day very warm. We fished off til [blank] [&] off stale [blank]. And a few weak fish caught. [blank][blank]-12. Then t o new york. Attended [blank] Brewer's cubs. [blank] day. I think I have won that bet with Brewer. Will was [blank] gone back to Newark by day. But he was here when I came back. Bill $10.70.
Friday 31st.
[blank][blank][blank] left in day. Will [blank] away early in the morning. Said food by 15 P's. He invited me to call upon them. Met her, Kelly [blank][blank] [&] Jim/Ally [blank] better in the lane. Away [blank]. Drew [blank] for live weeks, $21.40. Nothing much at [blank] Home. Found people here. [blank] a quiet evening. Mary in the city. Wrote 18 Magie twice about this time.
Saturday 1st Bid food by to the [blank] family. George [&] I to [blank]. We played five games of billiards. To the city on a late
